Hungary was the guest of honor at the 2014 Hiroshima International Animation Festival, and I had the privilege of creating a spot film for the occasion.
I chose to make a stop-motion piece using one of my favorite techniques: Puppetoons. This method, invented by Hungarian artist George Pal in the 1930s, involves creating every phase individually—in this case, over 200 carved wooden objects.
